2/28/19: Regular Meeting, Trifecta Continues
Learn about how we all can better support our environment.
Olivia Le Warn is from the Americorps New Jersey Watershed Ambassadors Program, administered by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection. The goals of the program are to promote watershed stewardship through education and direct community involvement, and to monitor stream health through performing visual and biological assessments. The NJWAP plays an important role in raising awareness of how human activities can affect water quality, especially in the most densely populated state in the nation. Each year, a new group of 20 Watershed Ambassadors engage with community members, channeling awareness into action. The presentation will provide information regarding the NJWAP’s goals, Lower Passaic and Saddle River Watershed Management Area (WMA 4), sources of pollution, and easy steps to take to ensure that we all are watershed friendly citizens.
